OUR HISTORY
The history of Victory Youth Foundation Africa dates back to 2022, the time of its inception as a small group of youths. It began with the collective ambitious and hopeful efforts of a few youths who opted to come together and change the society. At that time, the society was plagued by numerous challenges, including the plight of vulnerable groups such as orphans, street children, disadvantaged and less privileged youths, and the abandoned and homeless.
These challenges were particularly evident among children under the age of eight and those in their adolescent years - critical stages of development. Moved by the saying "No one should suffer in silence" and the belief that "Together, we can make a difference," the founders envisioned a turning point for the less privileged.
With a humble beginning, Victory Youth Foundation Africa started with a donation of a few used Brass Band instruments from a well-wisher in 2022. Training in Brass Band Music comprised the early stages of the organization. The founders were driven by the heartbreaking experiences of homelessness, hunger, starvation, prostitution, theft, and robbery that afflicted many young people. Some had lost hope and contemplated suicide.
In response, the organization embarked on providing alleviation services, including
Brass Band music training, to address these challenges. Despite inadequate resources and poor instrumentation, the training sensation began, and a few performances were held. This initiative not only provided a creative outlet but also gave the children and youth a sense of belonging and diverted their attention from harmful behaviors.
While social realities in East Africa and beyond are complex, Victory Youth Foundation Africa focused on community-level interventions due to limited resources. However, the organization's long-term objectives encompassed a broader range of services, including school sponsorship, rehabilitation and resettlement, vocational training, and accommodation for the homeless.
The founders' heartfelt zeal and love for the seemingly misfortunate people drove their mission to reclaim and revive their hopes. From 2022 to 2025, Victory Youth Foundation Africa has grown and expanded its services, remaining committed to empowering vulnerable youths and transforming communities.
